Vengeance for Before, Cheers for Now

I read this, on Tim Tebow, in Bruce Feldman’s always-a-must-read Sunday notes:

He also now has 56 rushing touchdowns in his career, three behind Eric Crouch for the FBS record among quarterbacks.

It got me thinking.

Anyone Want the Tebow Turtle?

You will never see a reptile exist this, uh...

You will never see a reptile exist this, uh...

Given the suffocating hysteria over that messianic guy who wears 15 for the Florida Gators, you would be forgiven for forgetting the one absurd bit of it that was the Tebow Turtle.

No worries: Now you can buy it! Continue reading

The 2009 Orange and Blue Game Open Thread

I’m trying something new with this.

This is a CoverItLive link, but it will have Twitter updates exclusively; I’m going to integrate a couple of other accounts and Twitter hashtags, too, so you’ll get more than my perspective.

I hope this is fun.

Is Donovan looking on, still?

Billy Donovan was almost gone.

I’m starting something new. This is a daily collection of links, not all sports-related, devoted to the best, most interesting, or most important stuff I want to share.

Send me stuff.

Florida’s men’s and women’s basketball seasons ended last night, but you knew that, right? Maybe more importantly, UF’s baseball team fell to UNF in Jacksonville. If there’s a sport where UF clearly lags, it’s baseball. (UNF)

Live Blog: Some Gators Play Lions, Some Gators Play Lambs

Tonight, the UF women’s basketball team faces a team some are calling the best to ever play women’s college basketball. And, what’s more, the Gators have to play the UConn Huskies in Storrs, Connecticut. Can they avoid being more than lambs led to slaughter?

After that game, their Y-chromosomed counterparts will take the floor in Gainesville and play Penn State for the right to advance to their fourth straight Final Four. (What? Even though it’s the NIT, it’s still a Final Four, right?) Will the Gators continue their hot postseason shooting, or will Stanley Pringle and the Nittany Lions spurt past them?

I have no idea. But I’ll be live blogging as I find out. Join me, won’t you?
